Joseph Harold Poling, age 85 of Ruth Street (Lucretia Community), Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Grafton City Hospital.
He was born January 7, 1933 in Kasson,(Shiloh Community)WV a son of the late Rev. Henry Obed and Beatrice Rose (Coffman) Poling.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Pauline Ruth (Hovatter) Poling; three sons, Timothy J. Poling and wife Cathy of Grafton, William H. “Bill” Poling and Teresa Smallwood, of Thornton, and Gary V. Poling and wife Jennifer also of Grafton; six grandchildren, Gabriel Poling and wife Theresa, Tabitha Loureiro and husband Joe, Megan Mays and husband Drew, Ashley Poling and Cameron Poling, and Whitney Dillon and husband Cody; four great-grandchildren, Brian Churchill, Lilly Poling, Zellie Poling, and Laken Dillon; one sister, Henrietta Ball and husband David; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson Connor D. Poling; two sons, Ronald J. and Randall S. Poling; two sisters, Betty Lew Flory and Catherine Poling; and one brother Robert Poling.

Joe graduated from the Kasson High School with the Class of 1952 then retired from the B&O and CSX Railroad after 39 years as a Conductor and Brakeman.

He was a member of the Shiloh Church of the Brethren and then of the Blueville United Methodist Church in Grafton.

He enjoyed working on his sawmill, woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, and going to beach.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Saturday, May 26th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Poling officiating.
Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery in Kasson.
