OUR HERITAGE

In 1979, Donald G. Ford opened the Ford Funeral Home, in the former Knotts Funeral Home location in the Blueville area of Grafton, WV.  People seemed to respond to Donald's friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor, as well as the high quality of the services he and his staff provided, and soon his business began to steadily grow. It was not long until it became apparent that it was necessary to find a location large enough to properly serve the increase in the number of families who were turning again and again to the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home to meet their needs. So, in January of 1994, the business was moved to our current facility on US Rt. 50 W (now designated as 950 George Washington Hwy) just outside of the Grafton city limits. At this time, the business became the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, Inc. The business is still going strong, and as the needs of the community change, the funeral home has been making the changes necessary to continue to meet those needs.

Since it first began back in 1979, the funeral home has always been locally owned and operated, by Donald G. Ford. Donald grew up in Taylor County (Oak Grove Community), the son of Pastor Donald F. Ford & Barbara (Withers) Ford. He graduated from Grafton High School, attended Fairmont State College, then became a licensed Funeral Director- a graduate of The Pittsburgh School of Mortuary Science, and has lived here all of his life. The Donald G. Ford Funeral Home Inc. is also very much a family business. Donald's sister Linda serves as the Office Manager, and is also licensed to sell Pre-Need policies, and his brother Kevin oversees the Marketing Department, as well as Building Maintenance.

At the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home, we are quite literally a family, and our family would be honored to be able to serve your family.
