Obituary for Virginia "Ruth" McCue

Virginia “Ruth” (Locke) McCue, age 88 of North Pike Street, Grafton, WV went on her last trip Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her residence.
She was born July 20, 1930 in Grafton the daughter of the late Harry A. and Adalyne R. (Spring) Locke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael E. McCue who passed away May 23, 1996
She is survived by one son, Michael Brent McCue and wife Catherine, of Barrickville, WV; three granddaughters, Jamie M. Garrett and husband Doug of Clarksburg, Jennifer D. McCue and companion Mike Thorn of Fairmont, and Michelle Lea Clyde and husband Todd of Barrickville; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Morgan Clyde and Tanner Garrett; two sisters-in-law, Thelma McCue of Elizabeth, WV and Louise McCue of Thorofare, NJ; also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her family, she had a great fondness for her beloved cat, “Mink”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Locke who died in infancy.
She graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1948; the Lincoln Institute of Nursing, December 1954; Marion County Nursing, April 1964; and earned a Pharmacology Certificate also in June 1964.
She was a retired LPN from Fairmont General Hospital and a homemaker. She and her husband lived many years in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the Overseas Adventurer’s Club, and Inner Circle member of Grand Circle Travel, and a member of the Taylor County Photography Club.
Mrs. McCue was a world traveler, visiting over 29 countries, and enjoyed each country and their customs. This is her last and final trip.

At Mrs. McCue’s request, she will be cremated and there will be no funeral home visitation or funeral. She will be inurned at the WV National Cemetery where she will join her husband.
