James Marshall "Chick"  Robinson
James Marshall “Chick” Robinson, age 78 of High Street, Grafton, WV passed away Thursday, March 06, 2014 at Rosewood Healthcare Center in Grafton.
He was born July 19, 1935 in Grafton, WV a son of the late R. Eugene “Gene” Robinson and Beatrice “Bea” (Sypolt) Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma E. (Haller) Robinson, whom he married September 22, 1954; two sons, Ricky R. Robinson and wife Becky of Grafton and Mark A. Robinson and wife MaryBeth of Hurricane, WV; five grandchildren, Samuel L. Robinson of Miami, FL, Adam Zachary “Zach” Robinson also of Miami, Jacob C. Robinson of Hurricane, WV; Paul Straight of Westover, WV, and Audrey (Straight) Ellis and husband Tommy of Lakeland, GA; one great-grandchild, Elias “Eli” Ellis of Lakeland, GA; and one sister-in-law, Carolyn J. Knotts of Grafton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley A. Wilkes.

Chick graduated from Grafton High School with the class of 1954 and upon graduation he enlisted into the US Navy, serving four years on the USS Plymouth Rock, in which he was a plank owner. He retired from Rex Hide/Dyna-Tech after 25 + years. He attended the Fetterman United Methodist Church, where he was Sunday School Superintendent. He coached Biddy Basketball for many years, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also enjoyed GHS football, WVU sports, and NASCAR.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 12:00 Noon
with Pastor James E. “Eddie” Martin officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the Navy Military Honor Guard.
The family would like to offer a special “Thank You” to the Rosewood Healthcare Center and the Fetterman United Methodist Church family.
