Carroll L  Tingler Sr.
Carroll Leon Tingler, Sr., age 89 of Haymond Road, Grafton, WV passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Grafton City Hospital.

He was born February 2, 1925 in Clarksburg, WV a son of the late Lawrence Waverly and Vesta Fay (Simmons) Tingler.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Louise (Burnside) Tingler; one son, Rusty Tingler and wife, Kathy of Grafton; one daughter, Cathy Duckworth of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren, Derald Tingler and wife Carie of Martinsburg, WV, Kelly Criss and husband, Marc of Sachse TX, Heather Duckworth and Tina Duckworth, both of FL; three great-grandchildren, Lindsey Tingler, Jud Criss, and Eli Haynes; three brothers, James Tingler and wife, Sue of Grafton, Lawrence Tingler also of Grafton, and Richard Tingler and wife, Mary of Martinsburg, WV; and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Irma Defenbaugh.

Carroll served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the B & O Railroad in 1985 as a machinist and was a member of the Grafton Masonic Lodge #15, VFW Memorial City Post 3081, American Legion Taylor County Post 12, and the Local 40&8 Veterans Organization.
He was a member of the Blueville United Methodist Church in Grafton.
He enjoyed trout fishing and being a part of his veteran’s organizations.
At Carroll’s request, he will be cremated. There will be no funeral home visitation or funeral at this time.
