Obituary for Robert Wayne Runner

Robert “Bob” Wayne Runner, age 69, of Stone Lane, Bridgeport, WV passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at his residence.
He was born October 5, 1946 in Morgantown, WV a son of the late Forest Wayne Runner and Helen Elizabeth (Gatian) Runner.

He is survived by four children, Diane L. (Jennifer) Runner of OH, Jason (Micki) Runner of OH, Joshua Runner and girlfriend Sabina, of Bridgeport, WV, and Nicholas (Ginnie) Runner also of OH; grandchildren, William Newbauer (Mitchel), Chloe Runner, Claire Runner, Zane Runner Gerlach, and Sabina’s son, Dana; his twin sister, Roberta “Bobbie” Murray (John, deceased) of Grafton, Wilma “Billie” Bowman (Richard) of Grafton; brother-in-law Harry Arble (Barbara); one nephew, Christopher Bowman (Karen) and their son, Tyler; special friends, Rich and Debbie; and also many friends around his apartment.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita A. Runner, who passed away November 17, 2014.

Bob graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1964 and was a veteran of the US Navy during the Viet Nam War. He was a co-owner of Runner’s Florist in Grafton and was a member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Grafton.
He was a WVU and NASCAR fan.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Thursday, March 10th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Graveside funeral service will be held at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Bert Coffman officiating.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard.
Anyone wishing to go the graveside service should meet at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
