Herbert H Miller age 93 of Pruntytown Pike , Grafton, WV passed away Monday August 8, 2016 at Grafton City Hospital. Herbert was born September 24, 1922 in Moatsville, WV the son of the late Theodore K Miller and Della Anna Miller.

Herbert is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Sondra Kay (McElwee) Miller; Eight children Randy Farnsworth and wife Linda Farnsworth of Homeworth, Ohio; Kathy Nuzum and husband Rich Nuzum of Thornton, WV; Bruce Farnsworth and wife Tisha Farnsworth of Grafton, WV; Brian “Bean” Farnsworth and wife Teena Farnsworth of Grafton; Jody Farnsworth of Grafton, WV; Connie Fitzhugh and husband Eddie Fitzhugh of Seattle, Washington; Patty Stephan of Eddyville, Nebraska; Larry Miller of Canton, Ohio also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by two brothers; Gilbert Miller; Ted Miller; and one sister Lou Nestor.

Herbert was a miner and welder at Glory Coal Co in Lumberport, WV for 40 years.

He was a Baptist by faith and was a member of the VFW Memorial City Post 3081.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed vegetable garden and spending time with his family.

He was a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946.


The family will receive friends at the Donald G Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Whitescarver officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown with military graveside services.
