James Paul  Parkhill
James Paul Parkhill, age 90 of Beverly Pike Grafton, WV passed Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV.
He was born November 17, 1925 in Grafton the son of the late James Oscar and Pauline (Stirmer) Parkhill.

He is survived by one son Gary Paul Parkhill and wife Janet Parkhill of Grafton, WV, two grandchildren;
Gary Paul Parkhill II of Grafton, WV and Jaime Lee Parkhill Wright and husband Raymond Wright also of Grafton; two great grandchildren Kadan and Jailen McDaniel; also survived by three brothers-in-law, Jim Shriver and wife Lou, Sam Shriver and wife Linda, and John Custer; one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Miller, all of Grafton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn L. (Shriver) Parkhill, who passed away July 27, 2011; one sister, Richardean Shreves; one brother-in-law, Terry Shriver; and one sister-in-law, Peggy Custer.

He served in the US Navy during WWII and he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Grafton for over 32 years.
He was past President of the Taylor Fair Association and was an Eagle Scout.

Jim loved his family and raced boats, and was an avid artist of boats, planes, rockets and automobiles.

Family will receive friends Sunday August 14, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Donald G Ford Funeral Home and from 10:00 till the funeral hour Monday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor Garry Whitescarver officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown and military graveside services will be conducted by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard.
