Wanda Marie (Godfrey) Thompson age 88 of Liberty Street, Grafton passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at United Hospital Center Hospital in Bridgeport.
Wanda was born June 13, 1928, in Braxton County, the daughter of Dorsey Parker Godfrey and Olive McNemar Godfrey.

She is survived by one son, David Glen Carpenter and wife Glenna, of Grafton, WV; one step son, Michael Thompson and wife Pamela of Etna, WY; eight grandchildren, David Carpenter Jr. and wife Tracy, Shannon Joyce and husband Aaron , Tina McClain and husband Jerry, Jennifer McClain, Adam Stafford and wife Taylor, Ronnie Carpenter, Piper Thompson and Parker; eight great- grandchildren, Samuel Carpenter, Tiffany Hinchman, Adrian Joyce, Corey Moore, Justin Moore, Bobby Slaughter, Noah McClain, and Grayson Stafford; one brother in law, Randy Thompson and wife Carolyn, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister in law, Jean Douglas, of Jacksonville, TX ; close friends, Georgia McDaniels, Debra and Roy Young and Karen Duckworth, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Lee Thompson and one son, Ronald Dale Carpenter.

Wanda was Assistant Circuit Clerk of Upshur County and attended New Testament Fellowship Church of
Grafton.

The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Heavener Cemetery in Buckhannon, WV
